Is anyone among you sick? He should summon the presbyters of the church, and they should pray over him and anoint [him] with oil in the name of the Lord. James 5:14

Those who are preparing for surgery, have a major illness, or are in need of healing for any health related issue can and are encouraged to receive the sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick. Call the parish office at (650) 366-9544 to make an appointment.

Anointing of the Sick and Home Visits

Do you know a parishioner ill at home, homebound or in a care facility who would like to receive Communion or anointing of the sick?  We have an outstanding group of parishioners who regularly bring Holy Communion to the sick at home, in hospitals, or care facilities. Call the parish office, and we will arrange to have someone visit. If you would like to have a member of the clergy visit (either a deacon or priest), we can also arrange a visit for you.

For a priest at Kaiser or Sequoia hospitals, contact the hospital chaplain through the nurse’s station at either hospital.

Communal Celebration of the Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick

We hold a communal celebration of the sacrament of anointing of the sick each year during Holy Week.  Individuals wishing to receive this sacrament at other times are encouraged to call the parish office to set up a convenient time for the celebration.  It is preferable to celebrate the anointing of the sick during the course of Mass or after Mass in order to enable other members of the community to participate.  Also, we advise parishioners not to wait until the illness becomes so advanced that the person receiving the sacrament is unable to fully participate.
